New technology leads to more flexible screens.

A new range of flexible technology screens – demonstrated by researchers from Sony and the Max Planck Institute – have pointed towards a possible new future for flexible screen technology.
 
The new developments, based on based on red or IR-A light upconversion, are all organic, transparent and flexible, and have an almost unlimited viewing angle.
 
The researchers concluded that: “To the best of our knowledge we demonstrate for the first time a versatile colour all-organic and transparent UC-display. The reported displays are also flexible and have excellent brightness.”
