Two technologies called Geometric Informatics and Velodyne LIDAR were used to capture 3D images for the new video of Radiohead’s latest single ‘House of Cards.’
Geometric Informatics is a scanning system that produces structured light to capture 3D images up close.
The Velodyne Lidar system is comprised of multiple lasers that can capture large environments like landscapes.
In the House of Cards video, 64 lasers were rotating in 360 degrees and shooting at 900 times per minute to make all the exterior scenes.

Shitdisco, Rocket, Leeds
Glaswegians Shitdisco have an uncanny knack of tapping into the zeigeist. In the wake of the Libertines' guerilla gigs, they developed a reputation for wild impromptu parties, often belting out their art-punk-dance in warehouses and even club toilets. They subsequently slotted into the scene led by the Rapture and LCD Soundsystem. Now, after touring with the Klaxons, they have aligned themselves with New Rave and attract an audience of trendies, at least one of whom waves a glow stick. The band underline their rave credentials by playing the Prodigy before they go onstage and bombard the audience with lasers. They could not do much more to hijack a bandwagon short of throwing themselves in front of it and kidnapping the conductor.
