PS3 firmware update to bring DTS-HD Master Audio

The next firmware update for Sony's PlayStation 3 should please those who use the console's Blu-ray capabilities to watch movies.
Version 2.30 will bring DTS-HD Master Audio technology to the PS3, improving the sound quality for owners up to HD standards for those with the correct kit.
DTS-HD can deliver 7.1 audio channel, which is said to be identical to the studio master with 96k/24-bit sound.
"PS3 was designed to enable delivery of new and improved technologies like DTS-HD Master Audio," said a top Sony bod, "So we are delighted to be able to offer this capability to PS3 users."
The new firmware will be available to download as a free upgrade on April 15th, 2008.
